Steve RaishSteve Raish, Trainer

Steve Raish is a licensed ceramic tile and stone installer and is considered an expert craftsman, resulting from over 30 years of hands-on experience in the business. In 1985 he founded Steve Raish Tile Company which he operated in southern California for 15 years, specializing in custom ceramic tile and stone installations. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of residential and commercial construction and has collaborated closely with contractors, architects, designers and builders in designing and installing quality tile and stone projects.

In 2000, Steve joined a leading manufacturer of installation products and systems where he initially provided training, technical services and wrote specifications. A few years later Steve became a sales representative in charge of the Los Angeles territory, while continuing to provide hands-on installation training for distributors around the country.

Steve has been actively involved in job failure investigations and prevention throughout his career and is a highly qualified trainer and inspector.  He joined CTaSC and UofCTS in 2005.

Kent Klaser, Trainer

Kent Klaser is a tile and stone expert with over 20 years experience in the tile and stone industry.  He is both a licensed ceramic tile and stone installer and a mason installer, as well as having a Bachelor of Science degree.

Kent has been in the tile and stone industry most of his life, having grown up in a family tile and stone installation company, Klaser Tile of San Diego, CA.  Kent started working full time for Klaser Tile in 1996. He started out working in the field as an installer. Later he worked as a project foreman for several years, and then worked as a senior project manager for the company.  In 2006 Kent became Vice President of Operations for Klaser Tile up until recently when he started working full time for CTaSC.

Kent brings his extensive tile and stone and management experience to CTaSC from his 20 plus years working in the industry. At Klaser Tile Kent did take-offs and bidding, oversaw and managed commercial projects, and managed a labor force that at times had over 100 workers on various projects.

At CTaSC Kent is a forensic investigator, an expert witness, a project manager, and a trainer for the University of Ceramic Tile and Stone (UofCTS)  Curriculum Vitae (PDF)
